In the bustling world of multinational conglomerates, there stood a South Korean giant—our client renowned for their innovative prowess. This client sought to establish an offshore center that would effectively handle the intricate testing needs of various  In-Vehicle Infotainment models from different automobile manufacturers. 

They yearned for a partnership that would not only deliver exceptional quality but also foster cost-saving synergies between their teams in Vietnam and South Korea. This captivating case study unfolds as the client’s vision comes to life with the help of Manual Embedded Testing services provided by the LTS Group.

Chapter 1: Setting the Stage

In a bid to realize their need to cut down on costs, the client turned to LTS Group—a trusted name in the realm of Manual testing. Recognizing the paramount importance of security in their device lab, the client’s requirements were nothing short of rigorous. 

Undeterred by the challenge, to fully and perfectly meet our client’s needs, LTS Group proposed to build an Offshore Development Center (ODC), which involved setting up the ODC, transferring devices, building teams, and establishing robust processes that adhered to two international security standards, including ISO 26262 and ASPICE (International Security Standards), ensuring the safety and sanctity of the client’s valuable assets. 

The team diligently trained in domain knowledge and collaborated closely with the client in testing activities.

With a team of only 7 initial dedicated individuals, LTS Group set out on this remarkable journey in 2017, and in 2023, we had 60 members working as a ODC team, encompassing Vietnamese laws and regulations.

Chapter 2: The Symphony of Collaboration

To withstand the test of time, the collaboration between LTS Group and the client required a harmonious blend of expertise and cooperation. 

Based on the client’s brief, the team diligently performed various testing types, including system testing, functional testing, technical testing, dynamic testing, etc., to meticulously scrutinize every aspect of the product. 

Recognizing the importance of regular oversight, our client made annual visits to verify the implementation of security standards, equipment storage, efficient task management, and overall quality control.

Chapter 3: Navigating Challenges, Paving the Way

No journey happens without its fair share of challenges. The first hurdle LTS Group faced was the need for a rapid ramp-up of human resources. We were required to build a full testing team in the shortest possible time. 

To meet the client’s requirement, in only one month, we built up a team of 7 members. Drawing upon their expertise, LTS Group swiftly devised a solution—a pilot project for knowledge transfer and sample tests. This approach allowed the team to transfer knowledge seamlessly while ensuring a smooth transition, maintaining a center with automotive testing skills, and saving costs.

Chapter 4: What Brought Us Success

To unlock the full potential of our testing capabilities, the team harnessed an arsenal of cutting-edge tools. Vector tool, CANoe, Test Bench, RH850, Debug board equipment—these tools breathed life into the testing endeavors. 

With software capable of simulating various signals, such as low fuel, speed limiter, ABS, and turn-by-turn navigation, LTS Group left no stone unturned in ensuring comprehensive testing. 

The use of CANLink, designed to simulate driver behavior signals and control vehicle sensors, climate settings, and automatic parking, further enhanced our testing repertoire. All these tools, combined with our expertise in C/C++, Linux, and CAN, provided LTS Group with a robust framework for success.
